No Shoes, No Service

You know when you're at the beach, and if you are wearing shoes, usually flip-flops, you leave them on the walk way just before you head onto the sand? While on our last beach trip, Brady did just that. Well, it seems as though someone really needed some casings (Brady-lingo), so they took his flops (Brady-lingo)!! These flops, no kidding, were Target $1 flops and were not Brady's favorites, however, these were the only ones he had left cause good ole Lucky had chewed the rest! Brady opted not to purchase any to replace them and thought he would just get by with his bare feet for the rest of the trip! The morning we left for home, we decided to eat at IHOP for breakfast. I told Brady we must stop somewhere on the way to get some shoes. I thought for sure IHOP would not let him in the restaurant. Umm, and what about the embarrassment of it!! We pulled into a Sam's parking lot and though it was before 10:00, we are business members so we can get in at 9:00. Brady, barefeet and all, walks through the parking lot and up to entrance. The lady told him he she couldn't let him in without shoes, but she understood what he needed so she told him he would have to get on one of the motorized carts, drive to find the shoes, put them on, and then pay for them. Wihtout much choice, Brady got on the motorized cart, found a suitable pair of Asics, but the shoes were held together with some sort of plastic that he couldn't get off. Luckily he had a lighter in his pocket, so he hid between the aisles, and burned the plastic apart!! Brady slipped on his new shoes and scooted to the front of the store to park the cart, and pay for his brand new shoes. And if it wasn't embarassing enough, the cashier, opened the box only to find it empty, so she looked at Brady with a puzzled face. Brady said, "I'm wearing them." :)

Brady's account of this story was hysterical and I wished he could have told it here on the blog. Mom, Dad, and I laughed til we almost cried!
