Emma and Abby stayed with their MeMe Sunday night and Monday. They went to the park and to visit G-Momma. The girls were tickled to feed Zion, the horse and see the cows. John Brady would most definitely be jealous!
Today was Emma's first day of DayCamp, and she was beside herself with enthusiasm! She will reunite with some preschool friends which makes the transition easier on her and me!! Abby is a little jealous because she wants to a "big girl" like Emma and go to daycamp! She really does worship Emma.
Kindergarten. Last day of school. Daycamp. It seems like we just got settled into our new routine of having a kindergartner and now it's changing again. We will soon have another kindergartener. Time flies!

A John Brady Funny
This morning John Brady got in bed with me, and he felt the string on my pajama pants. He said, "I got your tail, Mommy!"

Weekend
Well, after a week of sickness (I had strep throat, Em had tonsillitis), I am looking forward to the weekend!! On Saturday morning, I have my first "real photo shoot". Then we are going to a birthday party for Jackson and Park and later the girls will be spending the night with Clara Paige. Emma and Abby are soooooo excited about the party and staying at Clara Paige's. Hope the girls take it easy on Michele! John Brady gets to stay with Nanny and Papa all by himself. Thanks Mom and Dad. Brady and I will get a little down time and hopefully, cross your fingers, get my website going! Yea!!

Awards Day in Emma's Class
EMMA loses another tooth!!!
Emma Lawson's tooth had been lose for days and she would not let Brady pull her tooth. Let me tell you, Brady loves to pull her teeth!! Yes, I know, it is kind of weird, but I really think he looks forward to this. I, on the other hand, would rather dig splinters, clean under toenails, etc., anything but teeth! When Emma comes home from school, she has a missing tooth. Yes, she let Mrs. Fanning, her kindergarten teacher, pull her tooth. I just don't understand it, but Mrs. Fanning can talk her into anything.
Cooper Update
Cooper is coping with his "new leg" with no problems. He still climbs and gets into anything he wants! He even cleans it, as if the cast was really his leg!

Cooper's Accident
Yesterday, while we were eating lunch, the bench the girls was sitting on tipped over and fell on top of Cooper!!! Poor, poor Cooper. Shortly afterward a knot formed on his hindleg and Cooper could not use that leg. Emma got really upset and thought it was her fault, but I tried to explain that it was an accident. I took Cooper to the vet this morning, and Dr. McIlwain confirmed that Cooper has a fractured tibia!! To top it all off, today is "pet day" in Emma's class and Cooper was supposed to visit Em's class. At this point, I am not sure what I am going to do. Em will be heartbroken if Cooper doesn't get to participate in "pet day"!
Found out "pet day" is actually tomorrow! Emma had it on our calendar for today, and I failed to verify it. We have enlisted MeMe's help. Cooper might make it to pet day after all.

Look at my trophy!
Today was Abby's last tee-ball game and possibly the end of her ball career! Abby's team had several players missing today and although she has a 3 bat limit per inning, she agreed to hit 4 times today! She said she had a lot of fun playing today but she didn't want to play next time! Oh, well, Daddy will have to wait for John Brady to play.

Abby Claire's Preschool Graduation
Abby's Preschool Graduation was held Thursday, May 17. Abby loved having her entire family there to watch her sing and receive her diploma. Of course, we were all beaming with pride to watch Abby's precious performance.
Abby says thanks to Nanny, Papa, MeMe, Pops, Uncle Josh, Aunt CiCi, Uncle Dave, and baby cousin, Lawson for coming to her graduation!!! You all definitely made her night!
After graduation, we all had a great dinner at Wing's. Thanks everyone for a special night!

A New Kittie
Our kids have been wanting another pet, especially since we had to give Molly, "the trust fund dog", back to her family. Brady and I just weren't ready for an inside puppy so we talked to the girls about getting a kitten. Of course they were thrilled and so the decision was made. The decision came right on the heels of Emma adding her classroom "pet day" to our family calendar!! She knows I keep track of important dates on the calendar so she thought surely "pet day" was of great importance! I found one of those "free kitten" ads in the paper and made my way to this sweet old lady's house, after I stopped to buy a litter box, litter, kitten food, food and water bowl, toys, and a collar. Oh, yes, this is all coming back to me now. Yes, we had 2 cats, not too long ago. Anyway, I, again, am reminding myself to never say never. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed that this time will be different, seeing that this kitten is arrving post-kids and not pre-kids!! So now we have a 7 week old kitten, and we have named him "Cooper". John Brady calls him "pooper". He is a cutie and is already spoiled rotten. The kids love Cooper and have been taking turns holding him. I will set the timer and each of the girls gets to hold him for 5 minutes at a time. John Brady can only have supervised visits. Emma and Abby have learned quickly about cat claws and how badly they can hurt. As Abby says, "he's sticking to me". Wish us luck with Cooper!

It all goes by too fast!
Well, Emma is nearing the last day of Kindergarten and I can hardly believe it!! She only has 2 more weeks left of school. Abby Claire's Pre-Kindergarten Graduation is this week (look for pics). Before I realize it, Abby will be starting Kindergarten and for the first time in 5 years we will only have 1 child in daycare! WOW!

Lawson Meriwether Long is here!!
The newest member of the Lawson clan made it into this world EARLY Monday, May 7, 2007. Brady and I were tickled we got to be there when he was born, however, I did feel a little strange; For, it is usually me in the birthing position!! Ha! Lawson Meriwether Long weighed 7 lbs., 2 oz. and measured 20 1/2 in. long. We, especially my girls, were all amazed that such a baby could have been in our CiCi's tummy. Mom, dad, and baby are doing great. Emma, Abby, and John Brady took turns holding their baby cousin and welcoming him into the family! The kids are already crazy about him and so is his Uncle Brady and Aunt Kim. Emma even got over her initial reaction,"Can nobody around here have a GIRL!"
Here is a picture of Lawson and his very proud Uncle Brady.

Aunt CiCi's Tummy
As you know, my sister-in-law, Courtney is expecting any time now. Well, my brother-in-law, Dave, sent pictures to us today of Court's belly. I pulled the pictures up to show the kids and John Brady pointed to the screen and he said, "CiCi........tummy." Such a sweet, sweet moment. Wish Aunt CiCi could have been here to hear him! He, then, of course, pulls his shirt up and shows us his tummy. Emma and Abby just think the whole pregnant belly button thing is hilarious!!!
Vagania
Last night we sat down to eat supper with the kids, and Emma said, "MMMM, I know this is called vagania!" Brady and I tried very hard, mind you, to keep from losing our laughter and our LASAGNA!
Then tonight as Mom, the girls, John Brady, and I ate Mom's wonderful chicken casserole, John Brady threw his fist in the air and said, "AMEN!"
I guess there is just something about dinner time at our house. Oh, how I hope we will enjoy meals together forever!
So, yes, the Lawson's love "vagania". Amen!!
