The Prewash
Some of you might think this is totally nasty, but every time we are loading the dishwasher, our Lucky girl likes to lick the dirty dishes and we allow it! Told you she was a Lucky girl! We just think of her as our "prewash". She really does a good job. Don't worry. Our dishes do get washed in scalding hot water so they do get really clean. Lucky comes around when we are unloading the clean dishes, but she isn't interested at all in those nice and clean dishes. Not at all! Actually she is quite disappointed!

My Blog Has Gone Haywire!
Over the weekend my blog started doing some very strange things! The info to the right of my posts disappeared and landed at the bottom of my blog. At one point all of my posts hit the road and left the right sidebar info! I have tried over the past few days to correct this. After changing my template several times to fix this, I finally found one that would "restore" all the posts and sidebar info. I'm a little scared that I might lose my entire blog. Maybe my blog just needed a little TLC and this too will pass.
If this has happened to anyone else, please let me know how to correct it!!

A Valentine's Gift of A Different Kind
Mom's last dose of antibiotic will be this Saturday!!! Happy Valentine's Day Mom!!! Mom is so excited and hopeful that her sense of taste will improve once she is off the antibiotic. She told Dad to hold off on their anniversary dinner 'til she gets her taste back. (their 35th anniversary was on Emma's bday, the ninth).
Mom had a repeat MRI this week to check her spine for any remaining infection. We do not have the results yet, but we are certainly in good spirits about it. If the MRI is ok, Dr. Thomas, one of our favorite doctors, will remove the groshong catheter.
Overall Mom is doing well. A couple of weeks ago, mom's blood pressure dropped severely when she stood to walk and she fell and broke her foot and toe so she now sports a cast on her right foot and leg. That incident put her in the hospital for about 3 days. Her doctors felt like the blood pressure problem was related to a combination of meds.
Mom looks good and for the most part she feels good. She does have some nausea because of the strong antibiotic so that coupled with the lack of taste keeps her from having any kind of appetite. That will improve with time just as the other ailments. Mom is getting better and that's the important thing.
So on Saturday, we will celebrate Mom's last dose!!!! Yippee!!!!

Warning: A Very Long Post
We seem to get busier and busier these days. Last week was certainly a grand example! Monday I started teaching a photography class at Bevill and the girls started gymnastics at UA. Tuesday night was Northport Elementary's Skate Night at Super Skate. Our normal craziness occupied Wednesday and Thursday night and of course, I worked on photo sessions from the weekend and placed several orders. Friday night the girls and I attended the McWane Center Camp In for Girl Scouts. The girls and I had a full schedule of events that lasted until midnight!! We left the McWane Center the next morning around 7:45 am. Also, on Friday night, Brady took John Brady to spend the night with my mom and dad and then Brady drove to Fayette to pick up Emma's cake from Donna Norwood. Then Brady did some grocery shopping for Emma's birthday sleep-over.
After I dropped off one of my Girl Scouts at her house on Saturday morning, we arrived home and Abby hopped in the shower, and got dressed for Lizann's birthday party. Brady took Abby to Lizann's party and then went to Berry to get John Brady. I got ready for my 11:00 photo session and was finished by the time Brady got back. I visited with John Brady for a bit and then Brady and John Brady headed to Birmingham for some father/son time. Brady had tickets for Disney's Imagination Movers performance at the Alabama Theatre and hotel reservations so he could take John Brady swimming in their indoor pool.
Emma helped me with all three of my photo sessions on Saturday. Her friends started arriving around 5:30 for the birthday sleep over. Abby spent the night with Lizann and no she didn't mind missing Emma's sleep over because "Emma's friends wouldn't play with her anyway". Emma's friends, Haylee, Braylee, Graycn, Maddie, Tyner Beth, Clara Paige, and Fernanda all spent the night. During this I get a message from Brady that said as he was checking into the hotel, he found out the hotel's pool was "OUT OF ORDER"!!! Brady, being the awesome dad he is, found another hotel with a working pool so he got a refund and headed to the other hotel!
My great friend, Christy and her sweet Allie brought pizzas to the house for us and stayed for a while. Thank goodness for my wonderful friend and cousin-in-law, Michele Hicks who stayed the entire night and helped me keep my sanity!!! Even though we "put" the girls to bed around 10:30, but they did not go to sleep until 2:00 a.m.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, yes! And they were up the next morning at 5:45 a.m.!!!!!!!!!!! On the bright side, Michele and I did get to catch up and have some great adult conversation. It's so nice to talk to someone who has similar family craziness as me! LOL!
After a pancake and bacon breakfast and lots of trampoline time (thankful for the warm weather!), most of the girls were gone by 12ish. Brady and John Brady picked up Abby from Lizann's on their way back from Birmingham. Brady stayed for a bit after they got home, and then he made a trip to the grocery store, well, a couple of stores. When he got back, I hurried and left the house around 1:30 for another photo session leaving Brady to handle the kiddos and cook catfish fillets, fries, coleslaw, and hush puppies for our family birthday dinner for Emma which included Nanny, Papa, MeMe, Pop, Uncle Dave, Aunt CiCi, Lawson, and us! I got back around 4:45 to help with whatever I could and then we enjoyed a delicious meal and Emma blew out her candles, again! And then she opened presents, everyone left, the kids got ready for bed, and I stayed up doing laundry and placing picture orders!!
Whew!!!!!!!!!!! I have to say I am glad last week is over!
Now we just get to start all over again, but this time without the birthday bash!!! This week we only have gymnastics, my photog class, Girl Scouts, a field trip to the McWane Center (Emma's class), the Mercedes Marathon, and a Girl Scout cookie sale! So here we go again!
Thank you all for celebrating Emma's birthday with us. Emma felt very special and very much loved!
Now for some pics!
