Brady and I really enjoyed a tour of downtown Belize City, Belize. We got to see many historical sites and learn about the country. Belize is a poor country, but their people are very proud. The national flag was displayed at many homes. Belize only gained it's independence 27 years ago. The people of Belize have to spend a good portion of their earnings toward the education of their children. Public education there is not like it is here. Food is a big source of income for many families. We saw many fruit stands and "box" lunch stands. Some of the people sell their drawings and paintings to earn money for their children's education. I bought a great print by a local artist. It represents the Belizian way of life. Here are a few pictures from our tour.
This is a school for the deaf.

This playground isn't really a playground. It was a burial place for African slaves. Each box contains the remains of an African slave.
