First Beach Trip Without Diapers!!!! Yippee!!

Tonight we are leaving for our Lawson Family beach trip. And, yes, no diapers, no swim diapers, no diapers of any kind, well, except for those on Lawson!! Hip, hip, hooray! It's a real milestone for us, and I know most of you can relate. Hopefully, I will be able to blog and post pictures from the beach, but if not, I will certainly do it when we get back. :)

Update on Swim Lessons

This is John Brady's last week of lessons. Monday evening's lesson was quite eventful! John Brady accidentally fell in or jumped in, not sure which. His instructor didn't see him, but his daddy did! Thinking the instructor would soon see him, Brady started walking toward them. Just after Brady realized the instructor still didn't see John Brady and just as Brady entered panic mode, John Brady's head popped out of the water and he was swimming as hard as could!!! I wish I could have seen my little man swimming!

Hard Habit To Break

We recently purchased new twin beds for Em and Ab. (fyi-Em's headboard was cracked so another is being shipped, hence the reason for the missing headboard) They had been sharing a full bed since Emma was about 2 1/2 years old and Abby was about a year old. In the middle of the night on Sunday I went to check on them and this is what I found: Yep! Abby had migrated over to Emma's bed! Emma was literally hanging off the bed before I repositioned her. After the picture, I moved Abby to her bed and she did stay there until morning. Twin beds may have been a mistake, but too late now! Maybe Abby will adjust.

The Westervelt Warner Museum of American Art

I had been wanting to visit Jack Warner's museum for quite some time and I was off work Friday so it was a perfect time. Thicket magazine did a story on the museum in it's June/July issue (www.thicketmag.com). When I read the piece I questioned why I had never visited the museum, for it's nestled right here in Tuscaloosa, only 10 minutes from my house!! I had often heard of Mr. Warner's great art collection, but didn't realize it's magnitude until I visited. Well, if you haven't been you really need to go. Jack Warner owns one of the two greatest collections of American art in the world! Scheduled tours are available, but I opted for the audio tour. During the audio tour, Mr. Warner himself tells what the piece means to him. You can see from his collection that American history is very important to him. So it is a little history lesson, as well.
