I miss her

My granny in this picture is not the granny I see in the hospital bed in ACCU. Every now and then she appears, however, I often wonder if it's only because I want it to be her.

Knowing I have this picture from an August visit with Granny has been such a comfort.

Please say a little prayer for my grandmother, my mom, and her siblings.

Powerful Words

Last Sunday on our way to church, Brady and I were lecturing Emma for something she said. Brady was trying to explain to Emma that what she said wasn't really the problem, but how she said it was. Abby got caught up in the conversation and was asking why. Emma's response to her was four little words I will never forget:

• "Words are very powerful"

Wow! I thought about those words all the way to church and countless times since Sunday. Funny how your children can easily re-teach you a lesson!

Me PLUS Gun = ??

I was asked to take some pictures for a campaign this weekend. The candidate needed some pics for his website that shows how he spends his personal time. Early Saturday morning I follwed hime volunteering in a soup kitchen and then it was off to the woods for target shooting. While we were there he talked me into giving it a try. It just so happened that one of the physicians from the ENT group I used to work for was there and guided me through the entire process. I was pretty nervous because it was the first time for me to hold a gun. Holding the gun was the weirdest feeling, and I still can't describe how it felt to shoot it. I don't think I will ever forget it, though. To my surprise I hit the plate each time I shot and on my last bullet I hit the bullseye!! Who knew I could shoot something besides a camera?? :)

Meet Domino!

Brady rescued this fuzzy bundle of sweetness on the side of Hwy 82. For once it wasn't me who brought an animal to our house. My love for animals has finally penetrated the small area of Brady's heart designated for the furry kind! :)

Domino is so precious, and of course, the kids LOVE him. Lucky, our dog, thinks he's a toy, and Cooper, our cat, is just plain teed off!

Domino is only about 3-4 weeks old and is so tiny, you just can't help but love him!
