Back from Vegas

Brady and I traveled to Vegas so I could attend a conference on hearing aids (exciting, huh?). MeMe and Pops kept the kids most of the time. Mom was able to pick them up from school on Tuesday and stay until we got home. The kids had lots of fun with their grandparents!! We're not big Vegas fans, but we enjoyed getting away for a few days. What I love most about about being away is coming back!! Just look what our sweet girls had waiting on us when we arrived home last night! Of course all three children were asleep since it was midnight. They didn't know we were home, not even when I gave them all goodnight kisses. Didn't matter to me. It was just a warm, fuzzy feeling to be home. And speaking of warm and fuzzy...........see the cute elephants we brought home for the kids. :)

We stayed at the Flamingo. Our room came complete with a pink-lighted bathroom that sported a TV inside the mirror!! Brady and I thought the bathroom was so cool........the TV, not the pink lights!!! HA! We've sort of added that idea to our "list of things to consider" if we EVER build a house. I really enjoyed it while I was getting dressed for my meetings.

George Wallace, the comedian, walked right past us in our hotel! We were unsure if it was really him, when a hotel employee saw our faces and confirmed that it was him. He performs at the Flamingo and lives there, too. Actually we saw him twice as he was nonchalantly walking around the hotel. Sorry no pics. My camera was in our room and Brady wouldn't let me take one with my Blackberry.

Brady and I went to see Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian. The show was terrific! The show was packed full of awesome talent!!!

our hotel had a wildlife habitat that included flamingos, of course!

view from our room(not so pretty, but I thought the mountains in the background were cool)

Thanks MeMe, Pops, and Nanny for helping with the kids!!! It's always a relief to know they are well taken care of when we are away! :)

One Man's Trash Is Another Man's Treasure

Each year we go to the beach and each year we arrive home with several sea shells. I usually keep the prettiest or the most unique ones and put them in a bowl in our bathroom. Last summer Uncle Josh found a really big shell and gave it to the kids so when we got home I wrote his name and the year inside so we would always remember that Uncle Josh gave it to them.

Well, I happened to find a shell in John Brady's room over the weekend. A few months ago Brady cooked some oysters and some of the shells ended up in the yard. John Brady found this large oyster shell in the yard and had written in it just as I had done with Josh's shell!

Even though his letters didn't make sense, his little heart did!

Here's John Brady's treasured shell with dirt still stuck to it!

Spring Break

Brady and I decided to take the kids to Huntsville for a couple of days during spring break. We wanted to get out of town, but not go too far. Just telling the kids we were gonna stay at a hotel with an indoor pool was enough excitement for them!! The first thing we did was take them to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, even though it really wasn't our plan. Here's a few pics from our trip.

" Mr. Tour Guide, I have some questions for you!" He really did. I thought John Brady wasn't gonna leave the poor man alone!

John Brady called to Brady to look at him and this was what Brady saw whe he turned around! Too funny!

"Ummm, next we will see the.........."

Emma running to tell me about her exciting ride on the G-Force!! She was the only one of the three who met the height requirement. Emma said riding the G-Force felt like her cheeks were gonna be pulled right off!!!!

Abby decided to give John Brady a lesson while Emma rode the G-Force with Brady. She thought she was something standing in front of the podium and reading and pointing!!

We also went to a drive-thru safari. It was a lot of fun. Brady and I had as much fun as the kids.

It was messy even though we only drove through it! That is just half of the feed. The rest was on me and Brady where the kids threw it at the windows, but missed.

Em Em and daddy

Ahhhhhh, the hot tub!

Nintendo DS in the "fancy" hotel room.

We strolled through a really pretty park next to our hotel.

I thought it would be appropriate to take some pics of these ducks. AFLAAAAAAAC!!!

John Brady tried his best to catch a bird. I think he could have chased them all day! Silly boy!
