I picked John Brady up from his classroom yesterday to find him wearing a deer skin/fur headband. I said what in the world do you have on your head?!?! He said his friend, Katie, gave it to him.
Since the beginning of the school year, he and Katie have been "giving" each other gifts. These "gifts" however, usually aren't given with parental permission, and most of the time, without parental knowledge! For example, Katie has "given" John Brady money, a cell phone cover, etc. Once I find these items I promptly put them in a baggie with her name on it and return them to school. Who knows what all he has given her! If something is missing at our house, we always point to JB3.
Now. Back to the deer headband. I asked if Katie's parents knew about Katie giving him the headband. Of course he didn't know. Then I asked the million dollar question: John Brady, did you give Katie a gift? No response. Just a sly grin. I asked again: John Brady, did
you give Katie a gift? His reply: Well, I
did give her something. Me: What did you give Katie? John Brady: The key to your jewelry box.
