and my favorite, Amelia Island || Day One

Even though the beach didn't have the white, powdery sand like we are accustomed, we loved it!
The kids had the best time finding
huge, unbroken sea shells.
The kids brought home over 100 sea shells!!

When you have grandkids, you gain a lot of things. Wits is not one of them!!

Don't get me wrong.
We love the grandparents dearly.
Just not so much when they spoil them and then send them home. :)
Since my parents learned that SouthernLINC Wireless was the only cellular service that was available for the Yellow Creek area, mom and dad got new cell phones through SouthernLINC.  Well, the only problem with SouthernLINC was that coverage anywhere else was terrible!  Several times I couldn't get mom and a lot of times she would have dropped calls.  It was getting very frustrating.  Well, one day Abby couldn't get a call through to mom.  No quicker could Abby get the words out of her mouth before mom was at the At&t store getting new cell phones!  Now they have personal phones and "creek phones" .

We spent the latter part of our spring break at mom and dad's cabin on Yellow Creek.  The cabin is finally in good enough condition for overnight stays.

Mom and dad surprised the kids with a paddle boat!  So not only do the kids have a great place to stay on the river, they have their own room with their own beds, and now their very own paddle boat!

Oh, and what fun they had with their boat!

off they go!

A rope swing was another surprise for them!

John Brady trying to hook the rope for his turn.

Got it!!

Hold on to me, Abby!

And the rescue is a success!

What do you look like after two days at "the creek"?

It's that time of year again..................or at least one ofof those times

A time I long to go back to. To a much simpler time. A time when things were so much easier. Oh, how I wish I could go back to a time when I could find dresses for my girls that weren't so hoochie-mama!!!!

I sure hope this is true
